Aranjuez

If you’re a fan of gardens, you’ll love Aranjuez. Located about 45 minutes by train or car from Madrid. Aranjuez is a royal city known for its beautiful gardens and palaces. Visit the Royal Palace of Aranjuez, a stunning 18th-century palace that once served as a summer residence for the Spanish monarchs. Chinchón

This picturesque town is about an hour’s drive from Madrid and is famous for its beautiful plaza, which is surrounded by traditional houses with wooden balconies. The San Isidro Festival in Madrid (May 11-15) is a popular event that celebrates the patron saint of Madrid. The festival includes music, dance, and a bullfighting competition. In May, the town of Alcalá de Henares (40 minutes by train from Madrid) celebrates the Cervantes Week Festival, which honors the famous Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes. The festival includes parades, theater performances, and a market selling traditional foods and crafts.
